Worship Services UPDATE

Church Family,
We gathered again for Sunday Worship services. We will continue to gather for Sunday worship at 10:30 AM, following the guidelines from the State of Louisiana. Below is some guidance that we have been given by the state about churches regathering.

First, they are recommending that anyone who is 65 and older or with underlying health conditions that make you more susceptible to health risk with the Coronavirus to stay home. I know that includes a large percentage of our congregation. I would ask you to make whatever decision you are comfortable with. Please stay at home if you feel unsafe coming. We will continue to record our videos for those who are able to watch them online.

Second, those that do come, we are asking everyone to wear a mask. For those who do not have a mask, we have some at the church we can provide on Sunday when you arrive. Along with wearing the mask, we ask you to sit at least 6ft apart from anyone who does not live in your immediate household.

Third, we will have a nursery available during the service, but we will not have children’s church. We will re-evaluate this week by week. For the immediate future, we will only have Sunday morning worship services in person on the church property. It will be a while before we are able to resume close quarter activities such as Sunday School, Wednesday night activities, and Church Fellowship activities. We will however continue our prayer meetings via Zoom each Wednesday at 6:00.

Concerning other safety precautions, we have hand sanitizer stations set up in the hallway of the sanctuary. Please utilize those freely. Also, we will not be passing around the offering plates. At the end of the service we will have ushers standing at the back of the sanctuary holding offering plates for you to place your offering in at the end of the service.

I look forward to continue gathering and worshipping with those that are able. It truly is a grace from God to be with His people. We are brothers and sisters because of what Christ has done for us on the Cross. Under God’s sovereign hand He has chosen to place each of us in this particular family here at Parkview Baptist Church. I don’t consider that a light thing. I love each of you and am looking forward to seeing you again. God is worthy of our praise and our total devotion. I pray that this time at home has given each of us time to focus on who God is and on what our main priority is as His children: to worship Him and spread His gospel to the lost. I look forward to beginning that mission afresh and anew with you as we gather to worship in the comming weeks. To God be the glory both now and forever.
